Lovebomb

Father, I pray that we will be drawn closer to You and to know Your love, Your love for each one of us, and that we will know You as Abba, Daddy.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. “For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

Jesus came to earth because God loved us so much and wanted to have friendship with us, He wanted fellowship with humanity since the beginning of time. His purpose in coming wasn’t to judge us, but to save us—from what?  Hell. Remember, if we break the rules, we are guilty and deserve death penalty, but Jesus, out of love, came and took the death penalty we deserved.

See, its like this…in a courtroom, God the Father is sitting in the Judge’s seat, and the Prosecutor is the Devil, accusing us, slamming us with the evidence of what we did, and beyond a shadow of a doubt we are guilty. And the Devil demands the death penalty….but our defense lawyer has said nothing the entire time. We’re facing the death penalty!!! And our lawyer is saying NOTHING!!!  Court-appointed I guess….well, the evidence demanded a verdict and the sentence comes down, GUILTY, deserving of death. But our lawyer gets us, and shows that there is a provision in the law, that a perfect person can take the place of the guilty, and so He takes the penalty we deserved, tells us He loves us, and dies in our place….that is what Jesus did for us.

God’s love-bomb is waiting for everyone. His love-bomb was for everyone, but only he who believes in Him will have eternal life with Him in paradise.

1 John  4:15-16 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

God’s love-bomb, God is love. When we confess Jesus as Lord, King, leader of our life, then we are in God. And we experience the truth and power of the love of God, of that which is stated in the pages of the Bible. God is love, and in God is love and we are in God and we are in love with God, what we need to do is spread His love.

We need to spread God’s love-bomb:

Mark 12:28-31 One of the scribes came and heard them arguing, and recognizing that He had answered them well, asked Him, “What commandment is the foremost of all?”Jesus answered, “The foremost is, ‘Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is one Lord;  and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’  “The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

Love the Lord with all your heart, and love others as yourself. Jesus summed it up. That out of all the commandments, that was the sum of it all. Love, God’s love for us. We are to love God with everything we are and have, deep within us, and display it outward to Him in what we say and do, and go tell others of His love.

When in love we announce it to the world. “On top of the world!” Or we can have Titanic music going and we are on the bow of the ship with the wind!!! We show it, we talk about it, we post it on facebook. And that is what we should do with God’s love-bomb for us.

“What Held Him There”

The yelling and screaming, the angry voices so clear

I’m pushed and shoved, what am I doing here?

The streets are dusty, dirty, and hot

The peace I want, this place is not!

Why the angry and the crying I wonder

I’m shoved to the front, I have no time to ponder

My eyes adjust to the dust and the sun

The sight I see makes me want to run

A man I behold stumbles and falls

“What is going on! Why him?!” I call

I want to run, run far away

But something tells me to firmly stay

The yelling and screaming continues to so loud

His sentence and death demanded this crowd

The beatings don’t stop by the soldier with whip

A new bloody mark every time the man trips

I know who this is, they call Him Rabbi

So why, do I wonder, do they want Him to die?

He’s pushed and shoved now clear in front of me

The tears sting my eyes, I can barely see

I look at Him, my heart is shattered

I feel His love even though He is battered

Time seems to stop as I peer in His face

Something I want, it’s His powerful grace

Too weak to cry, too broken to speak

I stand and watch Him, I’ve never been as meek

The voices break through as the crowd yells again

I watch Him go my voice breaks, ‘Jesus…my Friend’

Out of the streets and the walls of the city

On this man, doesn’t anyone take pity?

I follow to where His sentence is lead

I don’t want to see this, my heart fills with dread

The crowd presses in to see the man they refuse to submit

To see Him murdered for crimes not commit

Innocent blood they will shed with no care

I see Him lying on a cross, behold He is there

The crowd cheers as the nails pound in

Don’t they know He’s there because of our sin?

The blood drips from His weathered raw hands

Lord, was this really part of the plan?

The nails again in His beaten feet

My hearts breaks, again will we ever meet?

The cries from His pain rise with great sound

Too much for me to bear, I fall to the ground

They rise Him up for all to see

Him on this cross, it is for me

A crown of thorns pushed in His brow

Oh God His love…why and how?

His eyes meet mine, I’m beckoned to come

I look at His body, His blood I have some

I don’t touch Him, I don’t want Him more pain

All I want is His holy cleansing rain

I look at His eyes, no wrath yet I see

Just love and forgiveness for sinners like me

God my sins are what held Him there

We don’t deserve life, yet for us He cares

The sound drowns out yet again I sob

My heart screams pain as it sorrowfully throbs

My Savior there who will never falter

I know that I need Him, a heavenly Father

I glance beside me, soldiers gamble His garments

They need His grace or forever they’ll tarnish

The time has come, He will take His last breathe

My sins are what caused this hideous death

‘It is finished’ I hear Him say

He commits His spirit but at the cross I still stay

I look around at these people so blind

How could we kill a man so dear and so kind

My knees to the ground I heavily fall

As I gaze upon my All in All

Bitter tears sting as my heart breaks

My life I know whole, only He can make

I thought I was good, but it so painfully clear

My sins and His love are what brought Him here

Again to raise He promised in three days

But forever I will in His love I will stay.
